“There’s Nothing Wrong With My Kid’s Self-Esteem”

Hi Everyone,

I’m at the Oregon State Fair, trying to market my book.  It’s going well.  There’s just one thing that has surprised me about this experience–several times I’ve heard parents or grandparents say: “There’s Nothing Wrong With My Kid’s Self-Esteem”.  Can’t we all continue to work on self-esteem throughout our lives? Maybe I’m not presenting the book correctly, because I feel this book is for any and ALL kids, pretty much in the 8-14 year-old age range, and even younger, if an adult sits next to the child and writes for him or her. A few adults have even bought it for themselves.

Of course this book will be very helpful to kids who do not have a good self-image, but the feedback I have received from a variety of kids has been positive across the board.  We can all stand to: celebrate our uniqueness and awesomeness; learn more about ourselves and others; improve in at least one of the six areas of maturity; set goals; learn more about problem-solving; learn strategies for refusing negative peer pressure; explore our creativity; and keep a check on our ethics and values. Aren’t we all continually working on our overall wellness?

And so, I shall continue on this marketing path, trying to attract any and all kids, parents, guardians, grand-parents, aunts, uncles, counselors, youth pastors, homeschooling folks-anyone working with kids. Thanks for reading my blog, and have a great day!
